| DAA192 24bit Digital/Analog Converter | ||
|
The DAA192 is a truly high-end advanced reference class DA converter. It features digital asynchronous 24 bit sample rate conversion, 192 kHz 24 bit DA converters operating in a complimentary coupling, crystal controlled output clock and State of The Art analog filtering. It has a transformer balanced AES input and a S/PDIF consumer input. Switching between inputs is automatic by priority: 1. AES, 2. S/PDIF.
The incoming digital audio signal is internally upsampled to 108 kHz before it is applied to the DA converters. The transfer of audio data from the SRC to the DA converters is controlled by a crystal clock providing excellent jitter isolation and optimum working conditions for the analog conversion process. The DA conversion is performed by two 24 bit 192 kHz sigma-delta converters operating in a balanced complimentary coupling, canceling out the main part of the HF components generated by the sigma-delta process, and at the same time lowering the general noise floor. Removal of the remaining noise above the audio band is performed by State of The Art analog filters with flat group delay and linear phase characteristics.
The DAA192 has excellent specifications, but more important is the astonishing audio quality resulting from the architecture. The sound picture is clear and transparent with am impressive depth perspective, rich with details and apparently free from masking effects. Typical data: 16- 24 bit input word. Input sampling rate 36 kHz – 108kHz. D-range 120 dB (A). THD+N –102 dBFs. Linearity 0 dBFs to -120 dBFs is better than 1 dB. AES input transformer balanced 110 ohms. S/PDIF input unbalanced 75 ohms. Electrically balanced outputs 15 ohms.
